The appeal of radio

I've started listening to Podcasts at work, and I've gained a new appreciation for radio. As a millennial, having grown up glue to a TV and not a 1920s console radio in the parlor, I've always thought of radio as a bland medium, only good for music in cars. But radio, specifically storytelling radio, is often more exciting than television. Many people like reading because it gives your mind the creative freedom to "picture what's going on." Your mind has total freedom over the visuals. With television, this freedom is lost--not with radio. If you don't believe me, check out a podcast like "Snap Judgement." But beware, you'll be hooked.
