Doctor's office anxiety

I'm sitting in the doctors office, and the silence is deafening. Just waiting for the doctor to burst through the door. It's like the silence is playing the daaaa-da-da-d-daaaa-da-d-daaaaaa song a jack in the box plays before the clown scares a child into wetting himself. I feel my blood pressure rising by the second. Thank God for the faded Tuscan wall art to calm my nerves. Otherwise, the sterile walls, biohazard waste container and infinite medical questions pasted to the walls would be unbearable. But the wait is often scarier than the event; the quiet more frightening than noise.
